Skype 6.9 0.517 Mac Download Updated

Skype 6.9 0.517 Mac Download

Although this is a MBPro Intel query rather than PowerPC, I thought I'd get more feedback from the brains on this forum than elsewhere.
Just about to sell a MBPro1.one running 10.half-dozen.eight and the prospective buyer wishes to utilise Skype. Is there a version that is still usable?
I've done a number of searches and THIS link was indicated. The folio opens, I click on the download link which and then immediately states, 'Unable to connect'. Is there a genuine trouble with downloadoldapps.com?
Same trouble with the links:
http://www.oldapps.com/mac/skype.php?arrangement=mac_os_x_10.6_snow_leopard_intel
and:
http://www.oldapps.com/mac/skype.php?old_skype=10001
Whatever other suggestions to download a useable Skype version on 10.6.8 ?

Thanks for respond. Could be interesting to hear what others retrieve.

AFAIK, Skype is expressionless in Snow Leopard and there are no further upgrade options on your 1,1.

I'k not a large Skype user, though, so can't say that with 100% certainty.

With that said, if the deal falls through, I know of someone else looking for an MBP i,1.

AFAIK, Skype is dead in Snow Leopard and at that place are no further upgrade options on your 1,1.

Thanks for that Bunns. It volition no doubtfulness put the MBPro back onto the market, although information technology should be noted I'm in Europe. The potential buyer also had a requirement for Google Chrome which I've found is also at present dead on Snow Leopard+.

The Skype "spider web app" (aka: using it solely through the website Skype.com) works in Snow Leopard with Firefox 48 (the last version of Firefox that works on Snowfall Leopard.).

Microsoft updated the Skype protocol so that older clients no longer work. For older systems, it's spider web-client-only now.

Thanks for all the feedback.
I hold, it appears that the OldApps site is now expressionless - whether temporary or permanently is anyone's judge. For info and anyone else who may be looking, I establish a Snowfall Leopard Skype 6.9.0.517 version HERE.
Interesting comment z970mp nearly Fluid apps, which I'd not previously heard about. Only been to the Fluid apps site and see a comment, 'Requires Mac Bone 10.12 or later on.' Their FAQ notes indicate withal that a Snowfall Leopard (64bit merely) version was available but give no boosted details or download links. Not very clever that! The MBPro1.1 in question is 32-bit though.:(
Other possible alternatives to Skype on Snow Leopard?
I read that Google Hangouts is a fairly popular alternative to Skype and that Gmail accounts include a video chat office. Would this be workable under Snowfall Leopard?
Believe also that FaceTime is available from the App store so volition give that possibility a try as well.

The processors are 64-bit. If y'all boot up in 64-bit way (edit a arrangement file or hold 6 and iv when booting), y'all will exist able to use 64-bit applications.

The MBP 1,i is Not 64 bit in whatever way, shape, or form.

Concluding edited:

The MBP one,i is obsolete, no doubt. I love mine but I have to admit that for but a piddling more money you can go a more capable 64-scrap tardily 2006 or 2007.

The MBP three,i and four,1 still remain amazingly capable machines-particularly the 4,1. I may be wrong, but I Retrieve it's even been hacked for Mojave(albeit you lot'll likely have to change the aerodrome bill of fare for it to work).

Even better, @dosdude1 can permanently fix the GPU problem on the 4,one.
